What does a fearful dog look like?

Canine Body Language: Fearful

A fearful dog shows takes on a defensive posture. He'll throw his ears back, narrow or avert his eyes, and expose his teeth. He'll crouch and tense his body and tuck his tail between the legs. Often, he'll snarl to let you know that he does not want to be approached.

It is important to note that a fearful dog is prone to attack. His gestures are saying, "Leave me alone or I will bite."
