February 27, 2004, Newsletter Issue #116: Letting the cats out but keeping the dogs in...

Tip of the Week

Question: Is there a way to let my cats out but keep my dogs in?

Answer: Yes. There are two common ways:
1) If your dogs are medium to large size, then just install a small pet door. The cats will be able to come and go as they please while your dogs will be too large to fit through.

2) If you have small dogs then you could use a window pet door that is strategically located. Your cat will then be able to reach the door while the dog will not.

Pet Doors USA ( http://www.dogdoors.com/plastic.html?tip=guru ) sells a PM210 door that will go through glass, but that requires your window to be replaced locally. They also sell a widow kit for cat sized doors that works with the PM210 and the PM221 pet doors.
