Q: My miniature Schnauzer is 6 months old. I have found three of her teeth in the past week. Is it normal for puppies to lose teeth? If so, how long will this go on?
A: Yes, just like human children, puppies lose their first or milk teeth to be replaced by their permanent teeth and the addition of molars for chewing. While this loss of puppy teeth and arrival of adult teeth usually starts around four months and finishes around six months, the timing varies by breed and individual dog. I have a miniature schnauzer as well and she is 4 1/2 months old. she has lost almost every tooth..she has one left on the bottom along with her molars and about 3 left on top along with her molars but has yet to grow any back in. she lost her first tooth at about 3 months...when will they start growing back in? im getting worried...

I think this was very informative. I got a puppy a couple of months back which was very malnurished and I thought that was the reason she was losing teeth. But she's about five months old and very healthy now.

My 4 month old pit mix is losing lots of teeth...especially this week. I found two big molars, and I also saw blood on her toy rope.
One thing that feels reallllly good on her teeth is wetting a towel, freezing it for 2 hours, and then giving it to her. She LOVES the cold on her sore gums. Another thing is crushed ice cubes. They love the coldness because it sooths and numbs the dental pain.
Also, I give her a little water the moment she loses a tooth just to wash the blood out of her mouth from losing the tooth.
Not to worry. Losing lots of teeth is normal, as the bigger (adult) "canine" teeth and molars grow in.

I havr a 7 month toy poodel. He has 2 sets of cannine teeth on the top and the bottom. He has his puppy teeth, which havenot fallen out yet, and his "big dog" teeth right next to them. It looks like double teeth. Should he have already lost hos puppy teeth before getting the other ones? It looks really odd.

Thank GOD I found this site. Me and my boyfriend were sitting here wondering if her teeth were knocked out last night when I accidentally let the footstool down on the sofa and Jazz, our miniature Schnauzer, bumped her lowe jaw on the coffee table. My boyfriend said when I told him I noticed a couple of teeth gone, that was the first thing he thought of, said he was gonna find some way to blame it on me! HA!! Glad to know this is normal.

My 5 month old blue staffy has lost all here bottom teeth & all here top teeth, but her adult teeth have already come threw.
Today I was playing tug of war with her & noticed that while we were playing her bottom fang or k9 touth had fallen out, I actually found the touth & now I'm wondering if this is normal.
I've also found her other teeth but I'm a bit worried can anyone help me with this.
